My dash has a warning that keeps popping up telling me maintenance is required, what does this mean, and can I get rid of it?

This is a reminder that comes on every time you are due for an oil change. First appearing at 50 hours, then every 100 hours thereafter, see the FAQ regarding maintenance schedule for details.

To reset this maintenance reminder requires a visit to your dealer, or for you to purchase, or have access to, an appropriate diagnostics tool, which can reset the maintenance timer, it cannot be reset on your own, without access to such a tool.
BRP’s official diagnostics tool for this is known as “BUDS”, but there are also aftermarket diagnostics products as well, such as “Candoo Pro”, which can reset the indicator. So you must find a dealer with such a tool who is willing to reset it, or purchase one of these tools to use yourself. The owners group also collectively owns BRP BUDS, which can be used if a group member chooses to buy into this purchase, but this is beyond the scope of an FAQ, please contact author for more information.

It’s important to note that if you have paid a dealer to change your oil, they are supposed to reset this indicator also! If not, you should insist they do, it is part of the oil change procedure. If you change the oil yourself, however, you will need access to the tool, as prescribed above. (But you will still save much in the long run compared to having your dealer change the oil!)
